Anxiety

Generalized Anxiety Disorder & Related Disorders

Anxiety is a natural emotional response to stress or perceived threats, characterized by feelings of tension, worry, and unease. While occasional anxiety is a normal part of life, excessive or persistent anxiety can interfere with daily functioning. Symptoms of anxiety include restlessness, rapid heartbeat, excessive worry, difficulty concentrating, muscle tension, and irritability. In some cases, individuals may also experience physical symptoms such as sweating, dizziness, and shortness of breath. Anxiety can affect personal, academic, and professional aspects of life, making it challenging to manage everyday tasks and social interactions.

Anxiety can interfere with daily life by making routine tasks feel overwhelming. It can impact relationships, work, and school by causing avoidance behaviors, trouble focusing, or emotional distress. Chronic anxiety may also lead to physical symptoms like fatigue, muscle tension, and sleep disturbances, affecting overall well-being.
